The bill would prohibit any new or expanded drilling leases, and would require existing leases to be off-limits to drilling within 200 miles of California beaches. The bill also prohibits any new or expanded permits for drilling or production in state waters off California. “
The measure would also prohibit drilling within 2 miles of the shoreline in California, Oregon and Washington, and within 4 miles in Alaska.
